Some Christmas Decor
I know I've been absent for some time! Honestly, my brain has been melting the past couple of weeks! I have so much to accomplish before Christmas... I am afraid I've already gotten lost in the Holiday hustle and bustle. So, I am taking some time out of my day... to ensure myself and you, I am not a scrooge, and give out some Christmas decor ideas!
Once upon a time, before there was Pinterest in a land far away...there was this thing called blogging. I used to spend hours (in a week, not at one time) searching various blogs for craft ideas, decorating tips and fashion sense. Now for all of you who hopped on the Pinterest train, I'm glad you did, but allow me to introduce you to my 'Pinterest' before Pinterest.... her name is, Jen Ramos, and she has a blog, 'Made By Girl'.
Lately Jen has been blogging about Christmas decoration, gift inspiration and so on. Here's a little preview:

Are you entertaining this Christmas? I'm excited when that day will come for me! This year I have been coveting a house, more and more each day! Although, I did a little creative decorating in my apartment this year...I'll blog about that sometime soon! The things you can do with mason jars and ribbon!! :] And just for fun... A few of my favorite Holiday decor I found on Pinterest!
Happy Christmasing to everybody! I'll be back before the end of the week to show you my home made Christmas decor! Enjoy your Monday afternoon! P.S. [In case you were concerned, My brain has not literally been melting, just a figure of speech] .

Spring has stolen my heart.
I know, it's still only January. But recent weather patterns have pulled at my heartstrings making the air feel and smell springish. 55 degrees on New Years in Michigan... since when?
I will admit I am a fickle girl, but when it comes to picking favorites, well, I take that VERY seriously. For instance, if you were to ask me to choose my favorite Starbucks, I would tell you that depends on the season and time of day... For fall, the Pumpkin Spice Latte wins hands down. Winter, the Gingerbread Latte comes in a close second. For Summer, a Light Ice, Upside down, Non-Fat Carmel Macchiato is my favorite [which is really just an iced vanilla latte with Carmel on it. I like saying the whole name, I feel like a coffee expert. ha.] ... So, I'm fickle, point proven I guess.
Getting to the main idea of this entry [insert drum roll here] ... I have a favorite season. Spring. I will admit, sometimes I almost lose my loyalty when the fall leaves start to change, or the first snowfall happens. My heart almost gives itself to the summer late nights, and trips to the beach. I start to fall for the hoodies and bonfires, hot coco, and ice cream on the pier...
But today is a the kind of day that reminds me of SPRiNG, and my love for the season. Spring, is the time where everything comes back to life again, and everyone is given a brand new start. And the sunrises are the prettiest.
Yes, it's January, but I am so on board with all these designers and retailers selling spring products already! PLEASE check out Starbucks new Springish mugs. [I fell in love this morning.]
Next Spring items on the list Coach Spring Shoes. I will admit I was surprised by the lack of color spring shoes are gaining this year. But I will also admit- I LIKE IT! [I'm a plain type of dresser, look in my closest, you'll find black, black, dark purple, and black.]
Being slightly disappointed in the lack of color Coach Spring Shoes brought me, I had to check out my new colorful favorite Johnathan Alder. Please look at the fun SPRiNG products I found below!
I will finish this entry with a small disappointment I had this Holiday Season. I had a major falling out with my favorite day of the year, Christmas Eve. It was sad, but true. We parted ways. Now I am missing a very crucial and critical aspect of my life,.... I'm thinking a new favorite day could be the first day of spring... or possibly Valentines day... Haven't decided yet. I'll let you know when I chose.
Welp, I hope you enjoyed this extra long moment with Hales! Have a fabulous Saturday!

Happy National Coffee Day!
As stressed as I am, I'm trying to remember to enjoy the little happiness that come complete with this adventure we call- life. So. Today I am taking the time to blog, and celebrate 'national coffee day'. Not on its own, of course, as a college student- I must do some studying as my celebrating continues. But- none the less. I am sipping a yummy Autumn Spice Latte from the White heart in little downtown Lynchburg.
I think this is seriously the BEST place to be celebrating today. The hardwoodfloors, (that creek) antique looking furniture, wooden bookshelves, and custom chalkboards make this prime coffee day enviorment for coffee lovers, like myself. Simply sitting at a table forces one to look around, and grasp the little details making the white heart worth visiting, and revisiting. The complete coffee ambiance is created and held within the walls of this place.
As I sit enthralled with my delicious coconut muffin and autumn spice latte- I decided my favorite accessory that the white heart has. Hanging on the wall above one of the fireplaces is a picture of JRR Tolkien this is my favorite partly because I am a lord of the rings fan- i know, i know, but- it runs in my family- and partly because of the memories the picture has attached to it.
My dad read LOTR when he was a teenager, and passed the epic story down to my siblings and I though reading each novel to us. I remember gathering together in my older brother, Chander's room sitting and anxiously awaiting what predicament the small Hobbit and his pal Sam would find themselves in that night! Since I was rather young it was not often I listened into these stories. Give me a break, I could bearly understand Amelia Bedila let alone the concepts of Mortar, Hobbit, Elfs, wars, Orks and so on. The picture framed above this fireplace hanging in front of my eyes- is the same one that was on the back cover of the LOTR books my dad used when reading to us!
I remember that picture scared me. Seeing an older man, with a pipe, laughing at something in the distance- I'm not sure what it was- but his profile was forever and still is imprinted in my mind. I stopped listening to my dad read after I saw that picture. I do wish I wouldn't have now, but fear can control children easier then adults I guess.
Anyways-Enjoy this national coffee day! If you are in Lynchburg, you still have time! Get to the whiteheart! I may still be here! :]. If you're not in the Burg. Go to one of your favorite places, get your favorite drink, and do one of your favorite things. Oh! Or bring some of your favorite people! (my boyfriends on the wayyyy! :]- He's one of my favorites.)
Coffee is about savoring the flavor, and making sure the drink is just right. Well- Get the moment just right, and savor it. Enjoy today to the last drop.
Happy to be back!
-Hales
